Oral health is exceptionally important for maintaining your pet’s quality of life and lifespan. Periodontal disease in pets is vastly overlooked because our pets are so stoic. It is extremely rare for a dog or a cat to stop eating when they have any kind of mouth disease, and therefore, we often underestimate the pain and discomfort our pets are experiencing. Our experienced veterinarians can examine your pet and give you an expert opinion on whether your pet is experiencing pain and infection. And if so, we can set up a time to do a dental prophylaxis or dental cleaning. It is safest and most comfortable for your pet to have this done under a general anesthetic.
